Sakineh

SakinehAt a ceremony Friday, 5 November City Council passed a motion supporting Sakineh Ashtiani and disadvantages of stoning in Iran. The Mayor Mrs Michèle Picard wrote a letter in which she stated that the movement for “all these girls and women suffer in silence”, adding: “Sakineh is the symbol of all women who are victims of violence, tens of thousands of them. subjected annually to mental and physical torture and stoning, freedom and dignity in danger every day. Your desire to stand firm and live freely, but without the support of international solidarity, their hopes may be dashed. ”

Oh, what a beautiful expression of things. And how elegant the wrath of the Iranian government. Happy “insolence” in any case! Good mobilization, the face Sakineh transformed into a global icon, a symbol, and, therefore, for the moment, the estimated time of death!

For me, of course, the struggle continues. It continues more than ever. For a stay of execution is not a pardon. And, oh, so the execution of the sentence still occur, and at any time. We must continue to pressure. There must be more and more people are – the signature, as the petition of the rules that their solidarity with the young woman convicted wrongly and, of course expresses his son, Sajjad
